My mind often wanders from one of my favorite vintage dresses to a favorite pair of ankle boots, but often lands on one of the many Cuyana pieces I own. After all, their carryall tote bag is probably the most life-changing item I have in my closet, and I thought it was about time to share some of my top Cuyana reviews for the products I own and love. I’ve had a Cuyana leather tote bag since 2015 (!) and it is still in great shape. I have used it almost daily since then as a carryall. I love the ethos of the brand and their focus on high quality items at more affordable price points.
This leather tote is one of a more expensive breed of bag that allows for a sophisticated take on the everyday canvas tote. In many ways it’s an elevated version of the similarly unstructured Baggu bag. I try to carry only the necessities on a day to day basis and although it may not seem like a lot, it always ends up taking up a lot of space in my bag. I usually carry a light sweater in case it gets chilly, my trusty Yeti water bottle, a makeup bag, my laptop, my wallet, my planner, phone, and keys.
I’m not sure how useful the Everlane cashmere vs. JCrew cashmere review was, but I really enjoyed learning a little bit more about the source and production of the materials of the clothes I buy. And Everlane makes it even more interesting because of their radical transparency and thus their willingness to give consumers a lot of details. I decided to order the Cuyana classic zip around wallet to replace a Tory Burch wallet that had worn out. I decided on the Cuyana wallet first because I had heard great things about the quality of their leather goods, and second because I wanted a simple, classic wallet with the option to monogram. But as for the top itself, I ordered a small and found it still quite big. It’s been almost a year since my last Cuyana review even though I’ve done a lot of Cuyana reviews in the past .
While I loved the original iteration, it was just a little too relaxed I felt for the office. I wanted something which had a bit more integrity to the leather, and would be suitable for taking to and from the office, while transitioning well for the weekend too. And the structured design seemed to tick all those boxes. It was still relaxed without being overly slouchy, the contrast bonded lining was a nice pop of colour, and the interior lateral tie gave me the option to style the bag one of two different ways. If you even needed the deal sweetened further, the colors are customizable so you can really have fun with it.
The glazing on the straps is all intact, a stitch is yet to come loose, and aside from some light creasing to the leather , it looks like new. The Classic Structured Leather Tote is my top pick whenever I’m asked to recommend a Cuyana bag to buy. If I could only pick one handbag style in my entire wardrobe to keep, it would be this bag. The Classic Structured Tote is perfectly sized to be used as an everyday tote bag, a bag for work, or even as a diaper bag. Featuring one interior pocket, this tote has plenty of wide, open interior space. I’m also a huge fan of the pebbled leather and more structured silhouette of this bag compared to Cuyana’s classic tote – it comes across more professional and polished.
When I had some left over store credit for Cuyana, I thought I would try out one of their new belts even though I would never spend $95 on a belt usually. When I bought the push stud belt I had visions of Emmanuelle Alt’s chic black and gold belt. Overall, I use this robe every morning after I shower and I just love it!
If I wasn’t still, deep down, a bit of a brand snob, I would probably replace more of my bags with bags like this. I wanted to post a couple pics/thoughts about these items because the content on the web seems to be only from brand influencers. The leather is in great shape, the handles haven’t started to fall apart, and the structure still holds. The only issue I’ve had with it was when I first bought it one of the clasps on the strap was broken but I emailed customer service and they replaced it for free. Very expensive but all pieces I have purchased are high quality and have held up for many years.
So the question became would I be able to return easily? I wrote to them and got an e-mail back immediately with a phone number. I wasn’t quite as prepared as I should have been but she was so kind.
